Coby Makes First Career Touchdown!

October 6, 2012

Issaquah, WA - It was pure jubilation this past weekend as Coby scored his first football career touchdown.  As a wide receiver for the Bellevue Bears, Coby spends most of his time blocking, and getting an occasional pass thrown to him.  His touchdown came as the Bears put a nice little drive together late in the 4th, which brought them down to their own 15 yard line.  After a 5 yard gain up the middle by Fullback Blake Hall, the Bears were 2nd & goal to go.  The Bears then dialed up the 28 sweep, Z reverse.  Coby was split out to the right, running back Austin Hourne took the handoff for the sweep right.  Hourne then handed the ball off to Akana, who took it around the corner for a 10 yard touchdown!  Nice job Coby!

Morgan enters the Y

August 26, 2012

Provo, UT - Hard to believe that number three child is graduated from high school and going to college! We took a road trip to Utah, to get her settled in to college life at BYU.  She is in Stover Hall, and getting ready for the semester.

Dad took Morgan and Casey to a closed BYU practice, as the Cougars prepare to battle WSU in Provo, in 4 days on August 30th.

Good luck Morgan!  "Enter to learn, go forth to serve!" Woo-hoo!

Elder Akana is assigned to Tortola, BVI

June 5, 2012

Tortola, BVI - Elder Akana has been re-assigned to labor on the island of Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands.  Really?!  There's no work to be done there, it's a vacation!  Kidding :)  He is companions with Elder Kersh now, and they have a great work ahead of them there on that tropical island.  The Branch President there, President Kalama is an old friend of Ry's from Laie, what a small world!  Elders Akana and Kersh share the mission with a senior missionary couple Elder & Sister Bonilla.

Take a look at these pics, it's hard to feel sorry for them!
